To Buy, Or Not To Buy?

Ugh! I officially have had enough Amazon gift certificates to purchase a new point and shoot camera, but I can't bring myself to hit submit on the order!

I had settled on Canon PowerShot SD1300, because I'm a Canon gal. The PowerShot I'm replacing is the A610 I bought just after we were married! It's served me well, but it's definitely time to upgrade - I don't want to continue missing out on good shots like I have been lately.

What's bothering me? The fact that it has a lithium-ion battery pack instead of regular AA batteries. It's so much easier to replace AA's when out and about, rather than waiting for the camera to recharge. I could get an extra battery pack, but that's yet another piece to have to carry around - which is the whole point of getting another point and shoot, it doesn't take up much room to carry along. (especially when you're in charge of a toddler tornado and twin corgi terrors, lol)

What camera do you have? Would you recommend it? (I know, I know DSLR's are way better - I agree, but we need one to carry along on a daily basis, plus DH can't take interchangeable lenses to most of his concerts)

I am a Canon girl as well. I have a 12.1 MP Powershot A1100IS. It uses AA batteries and we love it.

It's the same price on Amazon now, for what we bought it last summer.
They also have the green version for cheaper on amazon.

I have the 850 Cannon and it has the rechargeable battery. I got mine at best buy and they included the charger and an extra battery. I think I have had it for about 2 years now and I have never had the battery run out on me. My husband is off fishing in AK this week and he will probably take 500 pics of this trip. I love the rechargeable battery and will never go back to AAs. Good luck with your decision. Loving the heat in Seattle... yahoo!

I had a cannon with a rechargeable battery and hated it. It was such a pain in the butt. Plus the charge started holding less and less time. And as disorganized as I am, I kept losing the charger.

I've loved my Canon even though in the electronic world it's getting to be pretty old. It's a powershot SD600 elph. I love being able to slip it into a pocket or my purse and not have it take up too much space. I'd like to take better quality photos, but SLR cameras are really expensive, as are all the lenses that go with them.

I have a Kodak and I love it. It takes AA batteries and the software is so easy to use. (I did have a Poloroid digital camera previously and the software was horrendous.)

I'm looking for a new camera and posted on my blog for suggestions too...

I think I'll see what you end up purchasing to see how you like it too...

I have a Canon digital camera with a rechargeable battery and I love it. It can be on for hours and hours before running out of battery. And if you aren't leaving it on for hours, it seems to last forever! I would highly recommend it!
