Mommy Meditations was created with the help of Dr. Kerri S. Parks, who is not only running her own Obstetrics and Gynecology practice, she's also a Mom herself to 4 children. She has personally battled with postpartum depression and overcoming the loss of her husband to a fatal crash just days before the birth of her 4th child - which makes this woman superwoman in my book. Seriously, if my husband passed away, and my fourth child was on the way, I'm not sure I would ever be able to handle going back to work, much less work on a project like this!
Regardless of people trying to tell us otherwise, ladies, it's OK to feel overwhelmed, frustrated (especially with breastfeeding, it's not always as easy as they try to tell us), and frankly, spending days wondering what on earth were we thinking in getting pregnant and having kids in the first place. There are moments that the days of traveling around the world, going to parties and coming home at whatever time we want, etc, are what we want back - NOW.
Believe me, there are moments I want to bang my head on the wall... ok, so it happens on a daily basis here I think. LOL Don't ever feel that you are alone - life is not perfect, and we are not perfect wives and moms. We just have to try our best, and if it's an off day, it's an off day. Our husbands just have to deal with it, and we need to do the minimum - as long as diapers are changed, and the little ones aren't hungry, that's what matters. It's OK if it's 5 o'clock in the afternoon, yesterday's dishes are still piled on the counter, and both you and your toddler are still in your pj's. It happens!
Mommy Meditations is directed more towards those who have just given birth and in the first few months afterwards, but even moms of toddlers can benefit from the meditation - maybe even more so since we're the ones chasing after toddler tornadoes! ;)
Mommy Meditations is broken down into six parts - the first two parts are an introduction to Mommy Meditations with a message from Dr. Kerri S. Parks talking about herself, and Mommy Meditations. Part three prepares you for meditation, preferably during naptime, or just before every one is up for the day. The Guided Meditations section runs just over 14 minutes long, so it won't take up a lot of time.
Part five is MOMtras, which will give you positive thoughts that you can repeat throughout the day or when you have a quiet time - they are easy to remember. The last section, part six, is an instrumental track that you can use to meditate on your own whenever you need to. It runs just over 13 minutes long, so I recommend listening to it when you are taking a bath or a longer shower (on those rare occasions lol)
If you've never meditated before, you might feel a little weird at first sitting there, but it's almost like praying - the same quiet time you might have when reading Scripture and reflecting on the words. You're just reflecting on calming yourself instead.
We all need "me" time, and Mommy Meditations is a good way to relax and calm yourself in that oh so short time we get each day. The MOMtras are all things we need to remember, especially when we are feeling frazzled and exhausted. The instrumental track at the end is soothing, quiet music, that we could even fall asleep to as we relax. I recommend downloading the meditation tracks to your iPod or other MP3 player so you can listen to it whenever you need a moment - even if you can only take five minutes here or there with the instrumental track, it can help!

Count me on on entering this giveaway! I think this is perfect for all mom's and mom's to be. I was told by my counselor to try new calming things to ease stress. This would be a start.

I think this is a great idea, especially if the birth did not go as planned. I would love to have it!
