iCarly: iSpace Out is the latest installment from the popular Nickelodeon 'tween TV series. It contains six new to DVD episodes: "iSpace Out", "iWas a Pageant Girl", "iEnrange Gibby", "iFix A Pop Star", "iWon't Cancel the Show", and "iBelieve in Bigfoot".
In the title episode, "iSpace Out", Carly, Sam, and Freddie are invited by a billionaire to broadcast iCarly live from outer space. First, they must compete against the hosts of a rival web show for the chance, and pass some tests to prove they can handle the closed quarters first. Sam hiding beef brisket and creamed corn? Yes, you'll see it in this one. lol
The episodes are all typical iCarly fare (though, no appearances from Freddy's overbearing Mom on these - hurray!). The best episode is probably the final one on this DVD, "iBelieve in Bigfoot" - where they take off in Spencer's RV in search of Bigfoot and the BeavCoon. Even parents will get the hysterical giggles on this one! Don't know what a BeavCoon is? That's alright, I didn't either until we watched this one. (Only Spencer... LOL!) The one episode I could have lived without was the "iFix A Pop Star" which seemed to be a bit of a parody of Britney Spears - the "star" was crass, sullen, and parents who are horror movies fans may recognize the actress as Irene from My Bloody Valentine - after having watched that movie previously, I don't feel she belonged on the cast of a kids show, even if just for one episode - it kind of gave me the heebie jeebies watching her "prance" around on stage.
iCarly: iSpace Out contains a little bit of bonus features: "iSpace Out" iTrivia - where you can see pop ups with iCarly trivia throughout the episode, and the bonus pilot episode of Victorious, a new show on nick that most iCarly fans will enjoy - it's the same age range, only with a lot more singing and dancing. (You may recognize the lead character from Zoey 101)
iCarly: iSpace Out hits the streets this Tuesday, August 31st. It's full screen format, with a total running time of 145 minutes. Not rated, it's safe for the tween age range of about 7 to 12. (and adults too! lol) The suggested retail price is $16.99, though Amazon has it for just $12.49 as of this posting.
You know the drill: I received a copy of this DVD in order to view and share my opinions. Yada, yada, yada...
