Not that I want to think about it, but winter is on the horizon. Yikes! Based on the children's books by Rosemary Wells, the stories are about Max - your average three year old - and Ruby, his big sister. The only difference between most siblings these days? Max & Ruby are bunnies! Each episode usually contains three stories with Max & Ruby working out their differences and playing together.
Max & Ruby: Everybunny Loves Winter! contains four new to DVD episodes: Ruby's Gingerbread House, Max's Christmas Pass, Max's New Year; Ruby's Snowbunny, Ruby's Snowflake, Duck Duck Goose; Ruby's Horn of Plenty. Max's Big Kick, Max Says Goodbye; and Max's Balloon Buddies, Ruby's Penny Carnival, Ruby's Big Win.
You'll see a fall and winter theme throughout some of the episodes, and the carnival theme going on in the last set of episodes is fun, especially if your church or school holds one of those - you can watch it before attending. (I need to find one out here, I remember having so much fun attending those when I was little!)
I've mentioned this in the past on the Max & Ruby DVD's: They are the usual Max and Ruby fare, where you can see Max's stubbornness (just like any 3 year old, of course) and Ruby's intelligence/imagination. It's a great DVD for the preschool set (over the age of 4 will probably get bored fast). If you have never read any of the Max & Ruby stories, I really suggest visiting your local library and picking up a few to read alongside watching the DVD. They are fun, short books that make for an easy read with your kids before naptime and bedtime! These books are some of our favorites here. As always, I have to give not only the books, but this series two thumbs up as a Mom. I especially love that I can stop it after just one short story (using the PS3, it picks up again right where we stopped) and keep TV viewing to a minimum.
Max & Ruby: Everybunny Loves Winter! hits DVD shelves this coming Tuesday, September 21st - just in time to bring in Fall! It's full screen format, with no special features, and a running time of 99 minutes in total. The suggested retail price is $16.99, though Amazon has it on pre-order for $12.99 as of this posting.
You know the drill: I received a copy of this DVD in order to view and share my opinion. No other compensation was given, blah, blah, blah... ;)

I don't recall that I've shown my three-year-old anything Max & Ruby. We'll have to check it out - thanks!
