The Wisk Stain Lab Experiment In My Kitchen!

Murphy's Law seems to apply to everything in my life - even this post. You see, I was supposed to have received this package from Wisk over a week ago, and guess what? The package was returned to Wisk - damaged. Can you see me hitting my head against the wall? lol

It's Role Playing Friday! I get to be Storm, your friendly Scientist. Or lab worker. I think I'm more of a lab worker since I don't think my purpose is to blow things up today. ;) Seriously... remember those science kits we had as kids? I feel like I am 7 again. Mix a little of this, mix a little of that... BOOM! Or Red smoke. Or green bubbly goop. I remember a lot of green...

Come to think of it, that sounds like every day cooking in my kitchen. ;)

So Wisk sent over some fun goodies to do my mad lab experiments: a beaker, dropping pipette, eye goggles and lab coat for my assistant who is too young per child labor laws to participate <<< that was sarcasm. Seriously. On the other hand, as cute as the picture is, I'm not sure my not quite two year old is capable of this yet. Well, maybe I underestimate her, but I'm not sure I like the idea of training her yet to come up with experiments of her own - that could be a lot of clean up for Scientist/Mommy down the road. Where were we? Oh yes, they also sent over a red hot bottle of their Wisk (how I love the red color!), and this very icky green looking Protein-Stained Swatch:

Do I hear some eeeewwws? Yeah, I agree. Ick, ick, ICK. It's actually just grass stained fabric, but still - I seriously did not want to open the plastic to pull it out. So I made DH do it, since he volunteered to be my assistant. (Men! lol) I got some warm-hot water and filled the beaker:

and we poured some of the Wisk detergent into the lid and filled the pipette. Well, the pipette was supposed to be half full, but DH filled it all the way because he wanted to make a pretty picture:

Dork! We waited a few seconds, then swished the fabric swatch in the water for about 15 seconds:

And then a few seconds more because he was having too much fun:

And then KAPOOW:

You can see quite clearly where the Wisk was drawn onto the fabric. It's not blindingly white, but I'm thinking after a full soaking and then being run through the washer it would look pretty good, if it did this good after 15 seconds, right? Isn't the water afterwards just NASTY? Ick, ick, ick!

Interested in trying an experiment of your own? If you head over to coupons.com right now, there's a printable coupon available to save $1.00 off your next purchase of Wisk - try pre-treating your stains with it and see if it helps!

Wisk sponsored this post. I did receive monetary compensation for this post, but you'd get the same entertaining (hopefully you think so) opinions and remarks out of me regardless. Mamma has to pay for that new laptop somehow. ;)

Wow - I've never used Wisk, but I've got several $3 off coupons for it right now and after seeing your experiment, I'm thinking I need to put those to good use!!
