Spanish Harlem Orchestra is a Latin Jazz combo known for their Salsa and Merengue music and have been around for ten years now. They actually received a Grammy back in 2005. For those unfamiliar with the Salsa and Merengue style of music and dance, think the movie Dirty Dancing - she's learning to dance the Merengue. (you knew I'd figure a way to throw an 80's reference in here somewhere lol) Like my Granny did, I adore this style of traditional music, so I was more than happy when it arrived!

Viva la Tradición is the kind of music that begs you to dance to - you can't resist. Here is the track listing:
1. "La Salsa Dura"
2. "Mi Herencia Latina"
3. "Son De Corazon"
4. "Como Baila Mi Mulata"
5. "Si Me Quieres Te Quiero"
6. "Baila Latino"
7. "La Fiesta Empezo"
8. "Nuestra Cancion"
9. "Linda"
10. "Regalo De Dios"
11. "Rumba Urbana"
12. "El Negro Tiene Tumabo"
I loved "La Salsa Dura" and "Mi Herencia Latina", but I could have lived without "Nuestra Cancion" on this CD. It almost seemed out of place next to the other songs included. It's too slow and where it's placed in the CD, it just brings the mood down -not that it's not a nice song, of course. Have some space available in your living room, put this CD on, and enjoy some dancing with your husband/significant other. (If they argue that they can't dance, check with your local library for Salsa dance lession DVDs - and make them learn chicas!)
Spanish Harlem Orchestra Viva la Tradición is available now on CD and download at places like iTunes. The suggested retail price for the CD is $18.98, but Amazon has it available for $14.99 as of this posting.
I received a copy of this CD in order to listen to and share my opinions of.
