My family and I recently received a copy of the new animated DVD, Madeline's Christmas & Other Wintery Tales, to review.

From one of the best children's series ever, comes this new to DVD collection of stories perfect to bring in winter and the Holidays! There are five stories included on this one: "Madeline's Winter Vacation", "Madeline at the North Pole", "Madeline and Santa", "Madeline's Holiday With Mr. Grump", and "Madeline and the Ice Skates".
In "Madeline's Winter vacation", Madeline and the girls - and Pepito too! - take a train to visit Miss Clavel's Aunt Hilda's chalet in the Alps. Leave it to Pepito to bring up Snow Monsters (the Abdominal snowman) and send the imaginations into overdrive! lol This disc definitely does have more of a Christmas theme to it than other titles from other series coming out this series. It's the usual Madeline stubbornness, with Miss Clavel, Pepito, and of course, Genevieve in all the stories. Madeline fans will not be disappointed, although, there is no bonus material on this disc. (Sniff, sniff, it would have been such a great opportunity to have a Noel tie in game!) Pick this one up before the holiday season starts, so you can enjoy it all season long.
Madeline's Christmas & Other Wintery Tales will be released on DVD on Tuesday, October 19th, 2010, and runs 110 minutes long. It is full screen edition, and rated G - it's best for ages 3-5, older kids will probably be bored. There is no violence or bad language to be worried about, and this DVD doesn't contain any special features. The suggested retail price is $12.99, but Amazon has it on pre-order as of this posting for $12.49.
You know the drill: I received a copy of this DVD in order to review it and share my opinions of it.
