Time To Shop For Holiday Cards

Tomorrow is November 1st - it's time to get those Christmas cards chosen and ready to go! If you're like us, and send photo cards, don't wait until the last minute! This week, I'm going to try on holiday dresses on my daughter and then try to come up with something that matches for my DH (oh, who am I kidding - he'll end up in all black as usual. lol) for our photos, then get photos scheduled. I waited too long last year and barely got my cards out on time! I think a couple of people end up with New Year's Cards! lol

I just procrastinate too much on photos. It's torture. Plus, I hate having my photo taken anymore. I'd rather wield the camera.

Because so many people in our families speak Spanish, I usually tend to look for Tarjetas De Navidad. When I would purchase just regular boxed Christmas cards, I'd always pick up a box in English and one in Spanish for us to send. Shutterfly has a couple of photo card designs I've got my eyes on, including this one:

and I like these holiday photo cards too:

I like that last one especially because I could do three photos, one with us as a family, one of my daughter, and then maybe one with the dogs. (Yeah, I know, I'm a dork) Last year we did flat vertical ones from Shutterfly (we just used a photo with Santa Claus) for the first time. It was actually my first time sending everyone just a photo card - usually I sent a photo inside a Christmas card. I loved them - they came out wonderful and I was totally pleased, but here's the thing: do you think the photo cards flat like that are too impersonal? Are the traditional folded cards better? What do YOU send? I know some people don't even send cards via the mail anymore, but I have family in other countries that don't really use the Internet, so we'll continue to send cards via overseas snail mail.

By writing this post, I'll be receiving a code to receive photo cards so I can share my experience with y'all. All opinions are my own.
