Menu Planning Monday - Stone Soup

This is me, irritated, because I missed the chance to stock up on boneless skinless chicken at $1.99 a pound - oh well, hopefully next time. I have taken advantage of Green Giant veggies being on sale for 39 cents each at Albertsons, and restocked my peas and green beans, so I should be in the clear on those for the winter, as well as Ronzoni pasta on sale at QFC after coupons (blinkies I picked up a few weeks ago) at 49 cents a box - I bought 10. Yeah baby! (lol) It's just so easy to make an assorted casserole from my arsenal when I know DH is going to be late.

Slow cooker chicken last night? Absolutely YUM! I rubbed it down with ginger before tossing it in the pot. This coming Sunday's meal includes "stone soup". If you are familiar with the story of the Stone Soup, she used a rock and then got others to add yumminess to the pot with a bit of psychological mind games. ;) I call it stone soup, because it uses whatever leftover veggies and such are still in my fridge! (If you are adding pasta or split peas, wait until the last hour). It's really fun, and definitely frugal - I'll try to remember to take a picture of this batch and share what ended up in it.

Monday: Taco Turkey Wraps, chips, fruit salad

Tuesday: a recipe for Johnsonville (check back if you are interested!)

Wednesday: Spicy Beef Roll Ups

Thursday: crispy fish sandwiches, Seasoned French Fries

Friday: recipe of the week

Saturday: Slow Cooker split pea soup, biscuits

Sunday: Homemade slow cooker "stone soup"
