Review & Giveaway: Popchips

MomCentral recently asked me if I was interested in joining their Popchips Blog Tour - um, yeah? My DH loves his snacks! lol


PopChips are a crunchy snack without all the calories - and mess - of potato chips. A single-serve bag of popchips containing nearly 20 crave-crushing chips is only around 100 calories and 3.5 grams of fat. Sounds promising, doesn't it? The thing is, a snack can be the healthiest in the world, but if it doesn't taste good, it's not really satisfying, right?



A "Get Popped" taste test box was sent our way with a bunch of different flavors, a chip clip, and coupons for our next purchase. DH was all excited because the bags were single serve size, and perfect for taking to work. I don't normally purchase single serve bags of chips in our home because I think they are overpriced bags of calories, so you know he was thrilled. lol We were duking it out on which ones he could have vs which ones I wanted to snack on!

Popchips are aren't fried or baked - they are popped! How do you pop a chip you ask? Using what amounts to grains of rice or kernels of corn - but made of potatoes - they add a little heat and pressure, and you guessed it - pop! They come in Original Potato, Barbeque Potato, Sour Cream & Onion Potato, Cheddar Potato, Sea Salt & Vinegar Potato, Salt & Pepper Potato, and Parmesan Garlic Potato. Our favorites ended up being the barbecue, cheddar, and sour cream & onion. The salt & pepper weren't my thing, and DH says he took over three hours just to eat the sea salt & vinegar because he didn't like it but didn't want to waste. LOL If you normally like either of those flavors in a potato chip though, you will probably like it, but for us, our tastes usually run elsewhere.

Popchips are all natural, with no preservatives, fake flavors or coloring, and they are transfat free. They are also non-gmo, and the Original flavor is vegan. You can snag them at places like Whole Foods, Safeway, Jamba Juice, Target - and I just snagged a bag at Albertsons here too.
