Thrifty Thursday - Holiday Feast Stockpiling
This week for my Thrifty Thursday post, I'm reminding you about those Thanksgiving deals!
What you see on sale over the next week on items such as stuffing, boxed mashed potatoes, etc - will probably be the lowest price you'll see all year. Snag what you'll need on items you'll be using for your holiday and New Years' dinners and parties too! Most of these boxed and canned items will be good for at least a year, if not longer so take advantage if you have the space and fill up your pantry shelves! Don't forget that many items for baking will be on sale too - stock up for those Christmas cookie exchanges just around the corner.
If you have freezer space, purchasing those frozen turkeys can be a really good stock up deal, especially if you also serve turkey at Easter. Most frozen turkeys can be good for up to a year. (I can vouch for this - we made one last month that we had purchased last Thanksgiving, and it came out so yummy!) More tips on turkeys here
It's great time to expand your food storage right now, so make a list of what you use and stock up!
