Early December Random Contests & Deals
Here's some random news, sales, and contests that have landed in my email box over the last week or so, and rather than fill up your readers/inbox, I thought I'd condense them all into this one post. Maybe they'll save you some money, maybe you'll win something, or maybe I'm just helping you spend money you shouldn't be. LOL :)
Bravado Designs has a new free smart phone app for breast feeding Moms: Your Breastfeeding Friendly Locator. It will allow you to find, add, and share breastfeeding friendly locations in your community. By the way, even if you don't have a smart phone, you can still access this via the Internet and use it - I encourage you to add places if you can. This is the kind of program that only works if Moms make it work by contributing.
GenerationOn at www.generationOn.org, a leading youth service organizations and programs under one umbrella and includes more than 30 programs, 1,800 Kids Care Clubs and thousands of schools that engage more than two million young people in all 50 states and internationally, will help your child learn the gifts of knowledge, self-esteem and empowerment that come with youth service. For every service pledge made between December 3 and December 10, 2010, a toy will be given to a child in need through the Toys for Tots Holiday Gift Campaign (up to 100,000 total toys). If you are looking for an excellent way for your child to learn about community service, try this!

1) So happy to see the breastfeeding ap. Twenty years ago when I was working and pumping/breastfeeding, there was NOWHERE to use my pump, and I worked in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the country. Well, I finally weasled my way into a nearby children's hospital by a stroke of luck. Other than that, I would have been sitting in a toilet stall at work to use my breast pump (cringe). Our upsidedown society values womens breasts for all the wrong reasons, and makes it so hard to use them for what they were intended for.
2) What was Dell thinking when they decided to have their contest in Dec? Nothing else to do this month, yup yup yup.
3) Thanks for the tip on Better World Books. I just ordered some Christmas gifts from them, but didn't know about the local library angle. They seem like a good organization - with a ton of books!
