Dream Day True Love is a hidden object search and find game. You are a wedding planner, and you are hired in this one to create the perfect 70th anniversary for Bill and Helen, who were married way back in 1939. This game is actually based on the true story of one of the game developers, and all the stories, letters, etc included are real!
There are two ways to play the game, in First Love, which has more time on the clock, and Soulmates mode, where not only do you have a longer object list, there are no tutorials or text hints. You can also play with the timer turned off, which is great for those who get distracted 5 million times in 15 minutes. ;) In the timed play though, clicking randomly in hopes of finding an object will deduct time from your total amount, so be careful on clicking mindlessly - you'll have to pay attention to your list. There are also hidden bluebirds throughout each scene.
In the controls, you can adjust the sound, music, and voice over levels. Once you accept your mission, the majority of the game takes place at the family's old farmhouse located in Pennsylvania. You'll learn more about the history of the house as you complete your "chapters" in the story. Finish the level to unlock a bonus background. There are even bonus hunts on the chapter page, and for each set that you find, you'll receive a "gift" to open at the end of the story.
Dream Day True Love does have plenty of mini games and puzzles, which are skipable except when playing Soulmates mode. In some, you are trying to spot the difference, others, you are designing objects, and the hardest ones are where you are matching the missing pieces.

Like all the games in the Dream Day series, I found the graphics to be clear and vibrant, however the bigger the screen you are playing on, the easier it might be to find some of the smaller objects. Playing on First Love, I found the game to be a little shorter than I expected - just about three and a half hours worth of game time. The longer object list on Soulmates helped stretch out that level more, but it seemed to be one of the shorter games in the Dream Day series to me.
All in all, if you like hidden object puzzle games, and love the mini games, you'll enjoy playing Dream Day True Love. Like all the games in the series, it does have a romantic theme going on, although this one isn't as sappy as other titles could be considered to those who aren't into the whole romantic thing. I found the story rather sweet, and at moments, sad. (Bill was in the military)
Dream Day True Love is rated E for everyone, with some alcohol references - there is one game scene where you are creating a mint julep. I don't think it's enough to not allow a 'tween to play, although I am not sure the storyline would appeal to the younger crowd on this one.
Basic system requirements for this one are: Operating system: Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7, with a processor speed: Pentium III, 1000MHz. You'll also need RAM: 512MB, 1024MB recommended, Video RAM: 128MB recommended, and hard drive space (uncompressed) of 150MB free hard disk space. This game needs at least a resolution of 1024x768 in order to view the screen properly. You can download a free trial which gives you one hour of free game time, enough to show you whether or not you'll like the game, or you can purchase the game for $9.95 ($6.95 if you are a platinum game saver).
I received an unlock code to play this game online. All opinions are my own.
