Review & Giveaway: Coffee-Mate

When we first moved to Washington, DH would literally snarl at the coffeehouses. He HATED coffee. I enjoy it, but I don't like to drink a lot of it, so I would usually just treat myself to a cup here and there at the big coffee place - even though we had a coffeemaker and yeah, I know, it's cheaper to make it at home.

Then suddenly DH discovered coffee over the summer and it became a crack habit his new addiction. $10 worth of coffee drinks each trip out adds up FAST, so I bought him a brand new machine this past Fall thanks to CSN (um... post going up later!), and I started buying the fixin's to make gourmet drinks at home. I can buy a couple of different flavors of Coffee-Mate for that $10! LOL

What I love most about Coffee-Mate, is that it allows me to have fancy schmancy drinks just the like the big coffee house, but at a fraction of the cost. I can still splurge on better quality coffee to make them (although I have to tell you - Coffee-Mate is the only thing that can save the cheap blah brands of coffee) and I am still saving money over the $5 a drink costs. Add your flavor of choice to your favorite coffee, pull out a can of whipped topping, add a few chocolate sprinkles - and you've got almost the same drink!

If you are like me and have a thing for the seasonal flavors such as Gingerbread and Peppermint Mocha, go stock up on the ones on sale right now before they are gone - the unopened powder has a shelf-life of up to 24 months! Just be sure to store it in a cool, dry place. The liquid doesn't last as long unfortunately, so enjoy it while it lasts!

Check out the new Cafe flavors such as Caramel Macchiato and Cafe Latte - you won't want to pay full price for a coffee drink on a daily basis after trying these, either.
