DVD Review: Care Bears To The Rescue Movie

My family and I recently received a copy of the new DVD Care Bears To The Rescue Movie to review.

Care Bears To The Rescue Movie - not to be confused with the similarly titled Care Bears: To The Rescue which featured the "vintage" Care Bears - is an all new movie featuring the lovable Care Bears. In this one, it's time for the biggest celebration of the year - the Care-A-Lot Awards! The Care-A-Lot Awards are where Care Bears are honored for their good deeds throughout the year. You'll see the Care Bears helping a lot throughout this movie, like Grumpy Bear stopping an out of control machine from razing the town!

I've always been a big Care Bear fan, so I'll admit I probably was a lot more excited watching this one than the kiddo was. Of course, I still prefer the vintage look animated Care Bears to the CGI drawn new ones (I know, I'm just stuck in the 80's!) but this movie was cute and fun to watch. While the younger girls (or boys too) can watch this one, it probably will be most enjoyed by the 4 to 6 crowd.

Care Bears To The Rescue Movie does contain a couple of special features: an interactive game called the "Gobble Bug Rescue Mission" and some bonus short Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot episodes.

Care Bears To The Rescue Movie will be available this Tuesday, February 8th, 2010. It is not rated (see above), and widescreen format, with a total running time of 65 minutes long. The suggested retail price is $14.98, but Amazon has it available on pre-order for just $10.98 as of this posting. (Netflix folks: this DVD is currently available for streaming, as well as adding the DVD to your DVD queue)

You know the drill: I received a copy of this DVD in order to view and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are most definitely my own!
