CD Review & Giveaway: Kina Grannis - Stairwells

I recently received a copy of the new CD from Kina Grannis, Stairwells, to review.


One thing's for sure, thanks to the power of the Internet, I've had the chance to listen to lots of music I probably wouldn't have without it. The Internet has made it not only a lot easier to discover new music, but also help new musicians get their music out. Singer/songwriter Kina Grannis is one of those lucky new artists - her first album album, originally released in February 2010, sold more than 11,000 copies without any physical distribution at all! It managed to debut on Billboard’s Top 200 and at #5 on iTunes’ Pop Chart, and she even is one of the top subscribed-to musicians on YouTube with over 65 million total video views!

Stairwells is actually a "partial" re-release - I call it partial, because her debut album was also called Stairwells and features some of the same songs you'll hear on this Stairwells. (Confused? I hope not! lol) This new 2 disc CD is a remastered version, with new mixes, four brand new songs, and several exclusive videos. Here's the track listings:

You can also get a free download of "The One You Say Goodnight To" over on her website right now! One of my favorite tracks off the album is "Stars Falling Down". I also loved "The One You Say Goodnight To". I found Kina's voice to be sweet and uplifting, a little bit in the vein of Sarah McLachlan meets Vanessa Carlton.
