Review: Topricin

Do you find yourself constantly on the go with days that the only time you sit down is in the bathroom? There are some nights that my feet ache so bad, and it's not my shoes, I've just been standing all the day, and it's not until I sit down that I realize it! Sometimes I feel guilty complaining that they ache and asking my DH to massage my feet, when he's been standing all day at work. (Do y'all ever feel that way too?) It's not that my load is so much less, but still.

Topricin is a product that's been on the market since 1994. Unlike most of the pain relieving creams you'll find over in the over-the-counter aisles, Topricin is a homeopathic remedy. It works naturally (it's FDA regulated) to relieve pain throughout your body, from those foot aches, to lower back pain to what I call Blogger's issues - you know, that soreness that radiates from your elbow to your fingers from spending a little too much time on the computer. ;) It's also recommended for treating the pain associated with fibromyalga, arthritis, and neuropathy.

One of the newer products from Topricin is the Topricin Foot Therapy Cream. This is a pain relief and healing cream that targets foot and ankle pain. It helps with those every day aches from being on your feet, to swelling and soreness, and it's even safe for diabetics to use.

Another new product is Topricin Junior. With Summer here, kids are playing more outdoor sports, and bumps and bruises can happen. Like their other products, Topricin Junior helps with the aches and pains, without hazardous active ingredients like other OTC oral pain medications. You can even use it on insect bites to help stop the sting! (Let me tell you, this is definitely making it into our camping emergency kit just in case - I know the bugs are out full force here this year!) It's recommended by many pediatricians, and safe for ages 2 and up.

I received all three products to try out and see what I thought. I used the Topricin to relieve my Blogger's issues ;) as well as having my DH rub it on my lower back after some serious yard work. It goes on easily, and it isn't greasy or overly heavy. They say it doubles as a moisturizer, and sure enough I have to agree with that one. It's supposed to be odorless, but I swear I could smell a very, very faint odor. (That could just be me, though? Maybe it was my imagination? Asking DH is no help, he can barely smell anything this time of year - well, except for fried chicken. That he probably could smell a mile away! lol) It took less than five minutes for me to start feeling anything, and after about 10 or so minutes, the soreness in my arms was usually gone.

The Topricin Foot Therapy Cream was constantly stolen by my DH. Likewise, it wasn't greasy and easy to rub into our feet. DH really likes it because for him it's a 2 for 1 product - he doesn't have to use another cream on his feet on top of this since it does moisturize. It didn't really cure all his aches and pains on his feet, but he says it really did help, especially the day after he worked a double shift. For me, it was nice to rub it on my feet especially on the days I was wearing heels. I love wearing boots with heels when we go out, but sometimes I want to scream when I take them off - that's when the aching kicks in. If you're going to be attending any festivals or visiting any amusement parks this Summer, I totally recommend you have a tube of this in your suitcase or purse - it's easy enough that you can slather some on while you are walking around, especially if you are wearing sandals - and by the end of the day, maybe your feet won't ache as bad as they could.

We didn't try out the Topricin Junior yet, but like I mentioned above, I'm definitely keeping it on hand for all our activities this Summer. I like that it's kind of an all-in-one for her - that I can use it if she bumps herself or if she gets bitten by a mosquito. I'm not a fan of taking everything but the kitchen sink camping, so when a product can solve multiple problems (I'm sure DH and I could even use it too!), I'm always happy from that standpoint.

One of the things that also made me happy looking at the ingredients list is that paraben and petroleum free - both of those are items I don't want in my home if I can help it. I went looking, but I couldn't find whether Topricin had been tested on animals or not. :(

Topricin is also safe for pregnant women to use on their swollen feet and ankles, but I always recommend letting your doctor know.

You can purchase Topricin at your favorite store, like Fred Meyer, or you can purchase it online via their website. If purchasing online, right now you can save 25% off your purchase of the 4 oz Topricin Jar using promo code 25off at checkout.

I did receive samples of the product(s) mentioned above in order to try them out and share my thoughts on them. All opinions are my own, and your experience may vary. As this is an OTC product, do mention any aches and pains you might be having with your doctor and any products you are using - you never know if it might be a sign of a more serious problem.
