Shouldn't I At Least Get To Sleep In?
Who dictates that when you become a mom, birthdays are just another day? So much for sleeping in and having a lazy day, lol. It's barely 9 AM and I've already made breakfast for everyone, vacuumed, done the dishes, started in on a load of laundry... I just want to relax!
I think we need to make it a new law that when it's a woman's birthday, the rest of the world revolves around her wishes. Who's with me? ;)
PS: 34 is just as annoying as 33. lol

I agree!
Happy Birthday!
Hear, hear!
And happiest of birthdays to you!!
I'm with you! And I feel your pain. I think I got half a day "off" on Mother's Day this year.
Happy Birthday!
I hear ya. Agreed. I had this romantic notion when I was first married that DH would do something special for my birthday. Anything. Anything at all would have been fine. What I got as my bday gift was a heaping helping of attitude. Thinking of a gift to give me was too much work. Shopping for a gift was too much work. Paying for it? Too cheap. Wrapping? What's that? Cake? Don't even mention going out. By the third birthday I said, "Look, forget the gift, card, dinner. I'll bake myself a cake and decorate it. All you have to do is light the candles and pretend it's a little party. That's all you have to do." He couldn't do it. The candles kept going out. He gave up half way and blew the rest out and announced that I didn't need candles.
Since then I always make a point of telling him I want nothing at all for my birthday. So much easier to swallow than building up my hopes and being disappointed. Mind you, every year on his birthday his family members will call and say, "What'd she get you?" and then get all snooty if it isn't good enough. He feels entitled to the royal treatment. Totally a one way street.
m.e.n.
Anyway, Happy Birthday to my favorite blogger!
