If your daughter(s) love Dora and love princesses, dragons, and unicorns, she is going to be in hog heaven with the release of this three DVD set from the popular Nick Jr preschool show. Like the other box sets released from Nickelodeon over the last few months, the three DVD's included have all been previously released. If you're not new to Dora The Explorer, and you already own some of the DVD's included, you'll probably want to stay away from this box set. Otherwise, the DVD's are included in a fun box set that's easy to take to the grandparents or perfect for gift giving - and purchasing the box set ends up being cheaper than purchasing the three titles separately! Included in this set are the DVD's Fairytale Adventure, Dora Saves The Snow Princess, and Dora Saves The Crystal Kingdom.
Episodes included in this set are "Fairytale Adventure", "What Happens Next?", "The Magic Stick", "Dora Saves The Snow Princess", "Dora's Jack-in-the-Box", "Bark, Bark To Play Park!", "Dora Saves The Crystal Kingdom", "First Day of School", and "Boots Banana Wish". Three of the episodes are extra long double length episodes: "Fairytale Adventure", "Dora Saves The Snow Princess", and "Dora Saves The Crystal Kingdom", so that's why there's only three episodes on each DVD.
As you can probably guess, my daughter was in Dora heaven when this one arrived, lol. We actually didn't have any of these DVD's yet, so most of the episodes were new to her.
Dora The Explorer: Dora's Storybook Adventures is a three DVD box set that will be released this coming Tuesday, September 13th, 2011. Full screen format, it is not rated, but safe for all ages (those over the age of 4-5 will probably get bored super quickly). The total running time across all the discs is 282 minutes long. The suggested retail price is $24.99, but Amazon has it available for $18.99 as of this posting. (Netflix users: this box set is not available, but you can instantly stream other Dora episodes.)
I received a copy of this DVD in order to share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own.
