DVD Review: Spongebob's Runaway Roadtrip

My family and I recently received a copy of the newest animated Nickelodeon DVD release, Spongebob's Runaway Roadtrip, to review.

Hang onto your hats - Spongebob's Runaway Roadtrip is being released onto DVD before it's TV air date on 11/11/11! It's vacation time in Bikini Bottom! It contains five episodes "A Squarepants Family Vacation", "Patrick's Staycation", "Walking The Plankton", "Mooncation" and "Mr. Krabs Takes A Vacation". In "A Squarepants Family Vacation", Spongebob and Patrick joins Spongebob's parents on a roadtrip to the Great Barrier Reef. I guarantee you that after watching this episode, "The Roadtrip Song" will be stuck in your head for days. lol In "Walking The Plankton", Plakton and Karen (his computer wife lol) go on a "romantic cruise".

All of the episodes included are your usual Spongebob fare, with all of the typical Spongebob slapstick fare that kids go crazy over and sometimes just makes parents' roll their eyes. A few moments can be questionable for the younger crowd, so just use your best judgement.

Spongebob's Runaway Roadtrip also contains a little bit of special features: two bonus Spongebob episodes: "Hide And Then What Happens?" and "Shellback Shenanigans".

Spongebob's Runaway Roadtrip will be released this coming Tuesday, September 20th, 2011. Full screen format, it is not rated, although best for the ages 5-7 and up crowd. The total running time is 66 minutes long. The suggested retail price is $16.99, but Amazon has it available on pre-order for $13.99 as of this posting.

I received a copy of this DVD in order to view it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own.
