The Fisher-Price Little People Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo arrived on her birthday, of all the days, and she went crazy! Meant for ages one and a half to five, it teaches animal names and animal sounds. It comes with a zookeeper, a monkey, a lion (ROOOOAAARRR! lol), and a polar bear. Now not only are there little buttons with animal pictures on them that you can push for the sound (heads up, you do need 3 AA batteries and one 1.5V battery that are not included in the box), but there are other buttons with sound effects like in the water where you can push a lily pad to get water noises and watch the hippo mouth open and close.

Like I mentioned above, it only comes with three animals, but if you have other Fisher Price Little People Animals, there is no reason they can't live in the Zoo too. ;) The neat part is that is has different habitats for kids to learn about - of course you have the jungle with the monkey and the lion, the South Pole with the polar bear, and then the water with the hippo (who doesn't come off the playset, it's just his little head) And it's not just one sided - there's playroom on the back so if you have several kids playing together, they can all play on the same set. (Oh, and Moms - there is a handle built into the top of the South Pole, so you can easily pick this up for placing on a shelf when the kids are done playing.)
The new Fisher-Price Little People Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo retails for $39.99, and I'm sure with holidays here faster than we'd probably like (lol), you should be able to find some great sales and deals at the stores.

In honor of this latest addition to the Fisher-Price Little People line, Little People is hosting the Fisher-Price Animal Sounds Contest with help from celebrity Zoologist and children’s television show host, Jarod Miller! Parents, pull out those digital video cameras and snap a 20 second or less video of your child under the age of 5 demonstrating his or her best roar, grrrr or squawk for the chance to win a $10,000 cash prize and a trip to Fisher-Price headquarters in East Aurora, N.Y. for a special photo shoot! Your child can choose from the following animals to imitate: lion, tiger, elephant, bear, penguin, rhinoceros, leopard, whale, polar bear, hippopotamus, monkey, seal, gorilla, alligator, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, dolphin, snake, or bird.
...my munchkin wants to do the monkey. I thought for sure she'd go for the tiger or lion. lol
Anyways, the contest runs through November 30, 2011, and there are also ten first prizes, and *100* random prizes, so it's definitely worth a shot to enter! For more information, including rules, click here. Good luck if you decide to enter!
Thanks to Fisher Price, I received the Fisher-Price Little People Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo product to review. All opinions are my own as a Mom and consumer, and they are not that of Fisher Price.
