When you see the beautiful gift baskets available in the stores to give as gifts during the holidays, you've probably had the thought that you can do that too, for a lot less money out of pocket. You can! Your gift basket can even end up looking nicer - and with more goodies inside - than what you would purchase in the store. What you are putting inside the basket is incredibly important, but don't forget it's all about the presentation. Scour thrift stores and yard sales for lovely baskets at a fraction of the cost. (I've even picked up Longaberger baskets for under $5!) Don't forget to look for little items to add to the basket for cheap too - it's easy to snag brand new hand towels to help make a kitchen basket, or soup bowls to add to a basket with homemade dried soup mixes. Look for fun coffee mugs to add to a hot chocolate basket (with homebaked cookies!), or small like new saucepans to add to the dried soup mixes for college students.
And don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for Mason jars to put the mixes in! I'll be sharing with you some dried mixes that can be easily made up for the holidays, as well as homemade beauty treatments that you can create for folks in your life, over the next few months.
