Book Review & Giveaway: Cooper And Me

My family and I recently received a copy of the new children's storybook Cooper and Me by Monique Peters and Alexa Peters, and illustrated by Alexa Peters to review.


Cooper and Me is the story of a young girl who is nervous as her first day of school approaches. She doesn't want to go to school without her beloved dog, Cooper. After all, what would she do at school all day long? Certainly not the fun things she does now - like painting, and running, and dancing. Mommy has a surprise though - and will this make her want to go to school?

Cooper and Me is inspired by Alexa's first day of school. Alexa is just eleven years old! She wrote this book, with her mother's help, and all of the illustrations were done by Alexa. Not only is this an amazing project by Alexa, it is also a neat story of a family doing a project together! We enjoyed the book and the story behind the story! The book also includes a download of a fun song with the book, also called Cooper and Me. It's a great way to talk about anxiety with your kids.

The end of the book features some discussion questions that you can talk about with your child(ren), as well as a little memory page they can fill in about their first day of school. A portion of the proceeds from Cooper and Meled to a charitable alliance with the Happy Hearts Fund, founded and run by Petra Nemcova, the supermodel who was directly affected by the tsunami in Thailand.
