Giveaway: Redbox Has Your Horror Movie Fix!

Do you find yourself watching more horror movies leading up to Halloween? It's a year 'round thing in our home, with zombie movies being the hands down favorite. I like disaster movies, he likes horror movies - we meet in the middle with zombies. ;) Course, I prefer my horror movies to have a reason - violence for the sake of violence just doesn't do it for me. I want to know WHY someone is killing - or something is going on. It has to be a valid reason, too - and yes, I drive my DH INSANE with that. lol


Redbox has some great horror movies you can rent for just $1.00 a night plus tax. They emailed me some interesting information and facts I couldn't resist sharing with you:

Since 2004, redbox has provided more than 237 million hours of screams and jitters. (That's a lot of horror movies!)

Movie fans love to get spooked leading up to Halloween - Over 60 percent of respondents from a recent redbox survey watch a horror movie during the month of October to get in the Halloween spirit.* (I'm not surprised!)

Who’s afraid of the Dark? - Over 75 percent of respondents prefer to watch a horror movie with the lights off, with over 90 percent saying it makes the movies scarier.* (Definitely! I won't let DH watch a horror movie even during the day if he's going to work night shift any time soon! I'm a chicken and I admit it! LOL)

Want to know what movies make fans shiver in the dark? The top five scariest movie titles include:
1. The Exorcist (31 percent)
2. A Nightmare on Elm Street (19 percent)
3. Halloween (15 percent)
4. Paranormal Activity (9 percent)
5. The Shining (9 percent)

(Pffttt.. I'm miffed. Not a single zombie movie on the list. Hmph.)

Over half of respondents (60 percent) said entering a dark house or
room spooks them the most after a scary movie, while others say it is hearing a strange noise (47 percent) or walking down the street at night alone (36 percent).

*The “Redbox Spooktacular Survey” polled more than 900 redbox consumers nationwide.


If you'd like to get your zombie fix on, redbox now has the first season of AMC's The Walking Dead available on DVD. Just in case you haven't seen it yet - in which case, run, don't walk and rent it.
