Review: ChicBoom Cassette Speaker

I am most definitely an 80's kind of girl. I love the movies, the big hair, and most importantly - the music! Yes, I'll admit that I still have a stack of cassettes from the 80's here. (How about a little Cure or Dio, folks? lol) Who can forget patiently rewinding a cassette simply to listen to a song twice on your portable cassette player?

Um, yeah, I don't miss that at all! LOL I do miss the nostalgia of the artwork in the cassette liners - it seems these days, most album covers are incredibly boring. The majority of my music is downloaded online (legally!), and I have to admit, I love being able to skip from song to song on my iPod without having to lug around a stack of tapes or CDs. I may love the past, but I do NOT miss that part either! lol

I also remember sharing headphones with other kids on the bus so they could listen to whatever the latest band was that I had stumbled onto. It was nice to spread the word about the bands, but no fun only being able to listen to my music with one ear! Now with the iPods, that's a LOT easier - you can simply hook up your MP3 player to any of the portable speakers on the market, and everyone around you can hear.

You also don't have to worry that you need to go out and purchase more cables, as both the stereo cable and USB cable are included.

I'm a dork, so I just LOVED this! The chicboom Cassette Speaker is easy to toss into a backpack or messenger bag to share at a moment's notice. It's the size of any old cassette, so even if you should loose the clear carrying case, it's super easy to find a new one at a thrift store or garage sale. The speakers on my laptop are not the greatest, so it was nice to get some better sound using this while we were at the hotel for ZomBcon! I think this would also make a great stocking stuffer for teens and college students.
