When It Rains...

It pours...

It's always something around here, but the last few weeks have been brutal, physically and mentally. We started with picking up germ du jour at ZomBcon, which of course went straight onto my lungs and I am still feeling like I am drowning.

Captain being sick drained the bank account not only once for his emergency overnight round-the-clock care, but his follow up surgery which I almost hate to admit the cost of, because the non-pet people will choke. Let me just say: if you have a pet that seems prone to disasters (you're at the vet more than just the yearly check up), splurge on the pet insurance. Learn from my lesson! Even though the all inclusive plan seems to be pretty pricey, when you get an estimate bill for $3.5K in under a week for just one pet, you'll realize the pet insurance really wasn't that bad to begin with. :(

I think I mentioned we had begun to have car troubles again. (Although, when DON'T we have car troubles?!) We fixed one thing - I didn't want to, but the car was actually smoking LOL - and the guys were brutally honest with us over at Midas and said exactly what I have been saying for about oh, the last year - time to cut the cord and get a new car.

So basically all this week I have been alternating between tearing my hair out, sobbing uncontrollably, and trying to find a vehicle that works for us. I hate cars. HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE. Go ahead and laugh, but I'm perfectly happy not driving.

Yesterday DH came home and hit the panic button - there was no way the car was going to make until this weekend like I had hoped. Sigh! So we bit the bullet, went to test drive, and here is the new "baby":

I need running boards on it ASAP, because my stubby little legs don't like jumping in. lol I also promised DH we could do the fun accessories as funds allow. Yes, he's like a giddy little school boy - it's his first truck that's all his own. lol

I couldn't sleep last night because I was so terrified of this new purchase - it just came at the worst possible time for us. I am thrilled to get rid of that cursed car, don't get me wrong - but it's even more budgeting for us, and that drives me crazy!

If anything unexpected goes wrong with this truck in the next few days, I will SCREAM. You'll find me on the news, having gone absolutely crazy. lol I can't take much more drama!

I alternated betwixt laughing and being near tears as I read another of your Murphy's law 'It happened to us AGAIN'. The truck looks very nice and I can understand your husband being on top of Cloud 9 (all men likes their toys).
I pray God continues to watch over you and wishing all the best to poor Captain! It appears his guardian Angel was with him when you found him!
Blessings to all,
