Getting kids involved in holiday meal preparation is a great way to get them excited about traditional family meals and introduce them to new vegetables. You can let kids choose which vegetable will be the center of veggie attention at the meal, and let them help choose a new recipe to try and help prepare that recipe. Country Crock can help those veggies fly off plates and into little tummies! With 70% less saturated fat and 30% fewer calories than butter, adding Country Crock to dishes is a perfect way to keep your Thanksgiving and Christmas meals delicious, and loved by the entire family. You’ll also find that when kids contribute to the feast, they are more likely to eat the dishes they’ve helped prepare.
If you're looking for an easy task for little ones to help out with, try having them mash potatoes - kids find this fun, and it's hard for them to make a mess or ruin the dish. You can also pre-measure spices and seasonings, and have kids sprinkle them into the dish for you. Here's an easy to do mashed potatoes recipe that kids can help out with:
Ingredients:
3 medium mashed potatoes
1/4 cup Shedd's Spread Country Crock
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
pinch of black pepper
Directions:
Cover potatoes with water in a 2 quart saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and summer uncovered for 20 minutes or until potatoes are very tender, then drain.
Return potatoes to saucepan and let kids mash them. Stir in remaining ingredients.
Easy peasy, right? It just takes a few moments more than the instant kind. (which of course, are easy for kids to help make too, if you prefer)

Win it! Thanks to Country Crock, one lucky winner is going to win a kids cooking kit that includes kid friendly cooking utensils & apron, a Thanksgiving placemat for their seat at the table, Vegetable recipes, and a coupon for $1.50 off Country Crock. To enter, tell us what the child(ren) in your life do in the home to help out at meal time.

I have nephew and nieces only but when they visit us from out of town, they always help me prepare our meal by chopping the veggies or simply by telling me if the taste is right!
