Review & Giveaway: Greased Lightning

A few months back, they worked on our area's water lines - for a few days, we didn't have running water during the daytime. It was about this time that I noticed a bunch of extra particles in our water - it was so cloudy! I'm not sure what they did, but it's definitely been for the worse. My dishes never really seem clean, the shower has this awful film it never had before, and don't get me started on my laundry. I now run our drinking water twice through a PUR filter before we drink it, I'm that paranoid.

Greased Lightning Super Strength is a multi-purpose cleaner and degreaser that removes grease and grime, laundry and carpet stains, soap scum, and much more. I was invited to give it a try in my home. It arrived just after the Thanksgiving clean up had begun. Trying to clean up my roaster - and my sink afterwards - became a nightmare. No matter what I did, everything was feeling greasy even after washing the roasting pan and cleaning up my sink twice. I seriously was near tears. :( Even the counter between the sink and the oven - where we had placed the roaster - felt dirty after cleaning it. When FedEX arrived with the box of Greased Lightning Saturday morning, I figured I'd give it a try - even the littlest improvement was something at this point. (Poor DH was on the receiving end of my rant about the water around here)

I was shocked at how Greased Lightning wiped away grime and grease from my stainless steel sink - I'm not going to go so far as to say it sparkled, but there was a HUGE difference. You'd think I never cleaned around here!

I went nuts wiping everything down in my kitchen. (Be careful, certain surfaces can be ruined using it - check in an inconspicuous place first) The bathroom was next - it helped quite a bit with what I guess is buildup from our water. (I have NO clue what it is. We have a red tint if you don't clean up the shower every day, too - and here I thought the water in Texas was bad. Har de har har - so much for that!)

Now the scent is really strong - you definitely do want to use it in a well ventilated area and be careful if you have asthma or allergies - but I was pleased with the cleaning power. I probably won't use this on a daily basis, but I'll definitely keep one around for the seriously tough messes like turkey grease, and for giving our shower a good scrub down from time to time.

You can even use it as a laundry stain pre-treater to get out things like grass stains, although I haven't tried that myself. If you're a renter, getting ready to move out, or selling your home - pick up Greased Lightning Super Strength and see if it can help make your place look perfect. (I'll definitely be using it when the time comes to sell this place!)

My cleaning horror story is that my dogs ripped open the kitchen garbage and I had to spend the whole afternoon cleaning it and missed my show.

grease collection Texas said...

How wonderful to know that grease can be cleaned with such products! As much as possible, waste oil must be handled carefully in order to avoid spills. When the oil is ready to be thrown, it is better to have a storage container with a lid and allow grease collectors like one in Texas that pick up and bring the grease to recycling plants. Now, this is a great way to say goodbye to grease!
