Dino Dan is a new series from NCircle Entertainment that follows Dino Dan, a 10 year old boy who imagines that there are real dinosaurs all around him. The only thing is that only he can see them! Airing on Nick Jr, kids can learn everything from how dinosaurs got their names to how some herbivores defended themselves against predators. If you are looking for a TV show that teaches kids a little bit more than usual, while still being entertaining, Dino Dan definitely fits the bill - especially if they loves dinosaurs already!
Dino Trackers contains five episodes: "Name-A-Saurus", "To Flee Or Not To Flee", "There's A Compsognathus Under My Bed", "Dino Trackers", and "Mini-Dino". It also contains a couple of bonus features: "Are We There Yet? Wolrd Adventure", "Dino Dan Field Guide: Diplodocus", and "Dino Fact Finder: Stegosaurus". All of these episodes have previously aired on TV.
I dare you to sit down, watch this with your kids, and not learn a thing - because you can't! I was amazed at all the stuff I learned watching it with my daughter! The facts are just enough that kids can soak it up, and the episodes are the right length to keep their attention. You'll find that this show is geared more towards the 3-7 crowd, but older kids might enjoy it too if they love dinosaurs.
Dino Dan: Dino Trackers is available now wherever DVD's are sold. Not rated, but safe for all ages, the total running time including bonus features is 60 minutes long. The suggested retail price is $12.99, but Amazon has it available for $9.99 as of this posting.
I received a copy of this DVD in order to view it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are own.
