DVD Review: Pound Puppies Homeward Pound

A pup for every person, and a person for every pup!

My family and I recently received a copy of the new animated DVD Pound Puppies: Homeward Pound to review.

Break out the 80's nostalgia: those adorable puppies have been reincarnated into an all new series! The Pound Puppies over at Shelter 17 are on a mission to find good homes for all the homeless pups that come through the door. This all new DVD contains five episodes: "Homeward Pound", "My Fair Rebound", "Quintuplets", "K-9 Kid", and "Zoltron".

I always loved the Pound Puppies as a little girl - I remember being devastated when I lost one in the airport - so I was excited to watch this new version with my daughter. I'll always prefer the original, of course, but it's nice to see the show back and helping to spotlight that there are lots of dogs (and other pets!) who need a loving home. Like the original, it's geared for the 3-8 crowd, and appeals to both boys and girls.

The DVD also includes a bonus feature, "Learn To Draw Lucky", one of the Pound Puppies.

Here's a clip of the show:

Pound Puppies: Homeward Pound is available today wherever DVD's are sold. Rated TV-Y7, and full screen format, the total running time is about one hour long. The suggested retail price is $12.99, but Amazon has it available for $11.99 as of this posting.

I received a copy of this DVD in order to view it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own.
