Get On The Shelf Spotlight: DiaperPods (& Review!)

Lots of small business companies are competing right now for the chance to "Get on The Shelf" in your local Walmart store! As a consumer, we all can help to make the decision on what products we'll be able to purchase there soon. As you know, I love to support small businesses. Today's feature and review is DiaperPods!

Have you ever been out, had to change a disposable diaper on the fly, and realized you didn't have a bag to dispose the diaper in? Been there, done that, more than once. I felt awful, as it's rude to dispose of a diaper in the trash can like that - the entire bathroom can smell quickly, and that's not fair for the next person coming through the door. DiaperPods are a super neat convenient and sanitary idea. They are diaper, with the disposable receptacle built right into the backside of the diaper!

When I heard this, I almost thought it was too good to be true. If an idea like this was done, wouldn't it make the diaper bulky and uncomfortable for baby to wear? This was one of those "I've got to see it to believe it" items. While the "pod" on the backside is noticeable - DH says that's a good thing, because he can tell immediately which side is the backside without opening it and he puts it on right, lol, men! - it's not overly bulky. Here's what it looks like on the back:

See? Not huge. Pressing from the back, I can feel it through the material, but it shouldn't bug your baby unless they are incredibly sensitive. I really like this idea, and I love knowing that I can easily dispose of the diaper without worry. It also means one less item to haul around in your diaper bag too - which is great especially when you are traveling!

DiaperPods are not yet available in stores, but if you think this is a great idea too, and you'd love to be able to purchase DiaperPods at your local Walmart store, they need your help! Here's how to participate in the contest:

My, the things they invent these days for the convenience of consumers!
Handy perhaps occasionally but surely not necessary?
This makes me almost glad my children no longer require nappies!
Blessings,
