The only problem? Storing all that recycling during the week now that I didn't have a recycling can anymore! That's why I was so interested in Rubbermaid's new Hidden Recycler!
The Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler gets your recyclables off the counter and hidden out of sight, by attaching to the inside of a cabinet door. At first, I thought this meant it had to be permanently installed with screws, which sounded not only like a giant headache, but something that could be a pain for anyone renting or getting ready to sell their home. I was wrong though, as the Hidden Recycler uses hooks that hang over the cabinet door. Those little hooks are padded, so they won't scratch the outer surface of your door. (You can also install it with screws, if you'd rather have a more permanent solution)
It arrives flat and you can store it that way too if you aren't using it at the moment:
The five gallon bag has a sturdy outside fabric with a leak proof liner inside. It's machine washable (line dry), so you can sanitize it as needed. Because the fabric is soft sided, not only can it squeeze into most cabinets, but you can hold up 36 twelve ounce cans, and you can even fit bigger items into it like milk jugs and laundry detergent bottles. The bag itself comes unattached from the top part, and it has a handle so you can carry it out to your recycling bin when it's full - or in our case, we just use that handle to carry it out to the truck and take to the recycling area!

Even better? The bag and all of it's packaging is made from recyclable material - 65% post consumer resin - and it's recyclable if you've abused it to death and need a new one. ;)
I really like the Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler, and it's a lot nicer looking than the plastic bags I was reusing over and over! We just love that handle - we even realized we can take it along camping, and hang it from our lantern pole to keep the recyclables out of the way thanks to that handle! (Yippee!)
The Hidden Recycler is currently available for purchase online at Rubbermaid.com and in store at Meijer stores (located in the Midwest). It has a suggested retail price of $15.99.

I definitely like the Hidden Recycler best. It might class up my kitchen space a bit as I always have a plastic bag sitting on the counter for my recyclables until they are ready to go to the garage.
the hidden recycler would be the most helpful b/c my current box gets in the way of opening the cabinet for my pots & pans

This sounds really well thought out. I'd like one, but I have no place to put it in my tiny kitchen. Of the three, then, I like the 2 in 1 stacking set. That works for me.
