Celebrate Cinco de Mayo With A #CoronaRita!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Chili’s Grill & Bar. All opinions are 100% mine.

When I was a kid, I don't really remember others celebrating Cinco de Mayo like it's done today. Maybe it's the fact that there's strength in numbers, and as the Mexican communities have branched out in the country, so has our customs. On top of celebrating a little bit of Mexican heritage, it also signals the start of warmer weather arriving with a backyard BBQ with friends and family, or a great meal out like I used to do before I was married. (It gave us a great excuse to order a lot of margaritas as they were always on special for the day! LOL)

If going out to dinner is on your radar for Cindo de Mayo, Chili's has some new menu items, as well as a few good meal deals. For $20 (plus drinks and tax, of course - and don't forget the tip!), you can snag dinner for two that includes a shared appetizer. One of the entree choices includes a sirloin steak for a limited time! They also have a lighter choices menu that includes Sweet & Spicy Chicken: it's grilled chicken with habanero & sweet orange glaze brushed on it with onions and peppers. It's served with rice and steamed broccoli, so it's healthier than the usual fries you see with a lot of meals.

...I am drooling now just thinking about it. It's been awhile since we've been out to dinner, and since our last date night was such a disaster, maybe I can convince DH into dinner out soon. ;)

Speaking of Chili's and margaritas: just in time for Cinco de Mayo, they also have a brand new CoronaRita Margarita! It's made with Jose Cuervo Especial Tequila and Coronita, and the CoronaRita at Chili's would be perfect to go along with the Sweet & Spicy Chicken! (For those of you who drink and are legally able to: remember, you must be 21 years or older to drink alcoholic beverages and as always, please remember to drink responsibly! Oh, and designate a driver if you're not taking a cab or walking to dinner, m'kay?)

Have you been to Chili's recently? Is there something on the menu you think is drool-worthy right now?
