DVD Review: Ben 10: Ultimate Alien Volume 5: The Ultimate Ending

My family and I recently received a copy of the new DVD, Ben10 Ultimate Alien: The Ultimate Ending, to review.

One of the most successful Cartoon Network series for boys, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien is coming to an end, and this is the final DVD release from it's last season. Ben Tennyson, who is now a teenager, must face his biggest enemy Vilgax, who has re-emerged in his most powerful form ever. Ben must stop him before it's too late and avoid the ultimate end! This two disc set contains ten episodes: "Solitary Alignment", "Inspector #13", "The Enemy Of My Frenemy", "Catch A Falling Star", "The Eggman Cometh", "Couples Retreat", "Night Of The Living Nightmare", "The Beginning of The End", and the two part episode "The Ultimate Enemy Part 1 & 2". This last episode is dedicated to the memory of Dwayne McDuffie, one of the writers of Ben 10, who died on February 21, 2011.

Unfortunately, there are no special features included in this set, which is a shame. The graphics are pretty neat for this show, and it would have been nice to have a behind the scenes look. For those unfamiliar with the Ben 10 series, it's geared towards boys ages 5-10. It has the usual light cartoon violence in this action-adventure series, but no bad language, etc.

Ben10 Ultimate Alien: The Ultimate Ending will be available on DVD this Tuesday, March 16th, 2012. Widescreen format, the total running time is 220 minutes long. It's rated TV-Y7, with fantasy violence. The suggested retail price is $19.97, but Amazon has it available for $14.99 as of this posting. (Netflix users: this title is not currently available, but check often to see if it is)

I received a copy of this DVD in order to view it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own.
