National Drop Everything & Read Day

When was the last time you read a book? Did you know that today, April 12th, is National Drop Everything & Read Day?

As a book lover, I'd like to consider every day a great day to celebrate reading. ;) If it's been awhile since you've sat down and zoned out to a great book, today's a great day to set aside some time and read! Stop by your local library, drop into your favorite bookstore, or head on over to a site like Amazon, where you can ever find free e-Books to read. (If you didn't know, you don't have to have a Kindle to read those books - there is software you can download to read them on your computer!)

Need some reading ideas? I've done plenty of reviews on some great books, from fiction to cookbooks to self help books and books for kids to read. Oh, and a few zombie books too. ;) Click here to zip back through my archives of book reviews and find something new to read.

If you're a parent, I challenge you to sit back with your kids tonight - even if their a little older - and either read a book with them, or ask them what books they have read lately.

Oh, rats, I missed this. :( It would have been a swell excuse for not working at work. ;)

I agree with Lin's post! However do you find these things? You seem to be always on top of everything!

This sounds like a brilliant idea. I wish I'd known about it a few days in advance. I have several books waiting to be read...
