Review & Giveaway: Scünci Hot Streaks

I've been dying my hair a multitude of colors since I was 12. (Well, 11 if you count Sun-In - remember that stuff? LOL) I've run the gauntlet from light red to black to yes, bright colors like purple and blue. I love the new trend that's a simple streak of colored hair, but sometimes my hair needs a break - especially right now as my hair is damaged. If you too love this new trend, but you're not ready to take the plunge into permanent hair coloring, you're going to love the new scünci hot streaks!


Scünci hot streaks are clip on hair extensions that you easily slip into the back your hair, preferable under the scalp so the little clip (under 1" long) isn't seen. It's available in bright colors like pink, purple, blue, orange, and green. The best part is that it won't break your bank account with a suggested retail price of $4.99 each.

Each clip has 18" long of "faux" hair attached to it. If this is too long for you, you can always trim it to the proper length using a sharp pair of scissors. While the scünci hot streaks really aren't washable - you'll want to remove them from your hair before shampooing or spending a long time in the water - if the "faux" hair remains curly from being wrapped around the card when you purchase it, simply spray with a little bit of water and allow it to air dry.

I received the green scünci hot streaks to try out, and it's a super bright color that's perfect for summer months. Normally to get my hair this green, I'd have to bleach it and then use a dye like Manic Panic on it, so I think my hair is thankful for a rest and something a little less stressful for it. ;) The itty bitty clip was easy to put in my hair, but be careful with it, as it's not the sturdiest in the world. (Then again, at the cost, it's not a big deal to replace it!)
