DVD Review: Classic Features The Nifty Fifties

My family and I recently received a copy of the new DVD Classic Features: The Nifty Fifties to review.

The Nifty Fifties contains fifty classic movies, many in black and white, that feature actors and actresses like Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, and Charles Heston. If you're a fan of obscure classic movies, then this is the set for you!

Here's the complete movie listings: The Admiral was a Lady, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Affair in Monte Carlo, Africa Screams, The Angel with the Trumpet, Battles of Chief Pontiac, Behave Yourself, Beneath the 12-Mile Reef, The Bigamist, A Bolt of Lightning, Borderline, Buffalo Bill in Tomahawk Territory, Captain Scarface, The Capture, Cause For Alarm!, Chained for Life, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, The Conquest of Everest, Cyrano De Bergerac, The Groom Wore Spurs, Home Town Story, The Hoodlum, Indiscretion of an American Wife, The Jackie Robinson Story, The Lady Says No, The Last Time I Saw Paris, Lay that Rifle Down, Life and Loves of Mozart, A Life At Stake, Lilli Marlene, The Limping Man, Love Island, The Man Who Cheated Himself, The Man Who Had Influence, The Man with the Golden Arm, Manfish, The Mark of the Hawk, Martin Luther, My Outlaw Brother, Never Wave at a WAC, The Night America Trembled, The Painted Hills, Plan For Escape, The Second Woman, The Snows of Kilimanjaro, St. Benny the Dip, A Tale of Two Cities, Three Husbands, The Trial of John Peter Zenger, and The White Orchid.

While I hadn't seen many of the films included in this set before, I recognized a few from when I was younger and watching movies with my grandmother and great-grandmother. Now, some of these movies aren't the greatest pictures, in part due to the age, which can also affect the sound. Those of you who enjoy older movies know this is the norm. Regardless, it's a great way to enjoy these vintage films from the comfort of your own living room and commercial free.

If you're on the hunt for a gift for an older female relative this Mother's Day, visit TV Flashback's webpage here to save 25% off your purchase off this DVD using promo code 50PACK25 at checkout.

Classic Features: The Nifty Fifties is a twelve disc set available on DVD now. The total running time is 65 hours and 33 minutes long. Not rated, many of the movies are safe for all ages, although some may have some inappropriate scenes for young children, so use your best judgement if viewing with children. The suggested retail price is $29.98, but Amazon has it available for $19.93 as of this posting.

I received a copy of this DVD set in order to view it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own.
