Petpalooza 2012

Once again this year, we loaded up the truck and attended Petpalooza, held over in Auburn, Washington. Held all day, it's a fun event celebrating the furry, feathery, and even scaly members of the family. Of course, Captain and the Grumpy Princess attended with us - and were treated to a bunch of yummy snacks from many booths, including the folks over at Pupcakes and City Dog.

As seems to be our tradition, the kiddo has to have to have our pony ride - ahem, rides - each year:

(See how much it costs? It kills me - she needs her own pony! LOL)

Look at this adorable one month old foal we saw!

The folks over at the Seattle Humane Society made the trip with their mobile adoption van again this year. They had lots of kitties looking for their fur-ever homes:

Lots of rescue groups also made the journey, to raise awareness and answer questions about the breeds, as well as try to find homes for some of the critters. Here is the folks over at the Boston Terrier Club of Western Washington:

Corgi rescue never seems to make the trip out, which is a bummer. We get stopped constantly asking about our two, so I think they miss an excellent opportunity. Maybe next year?

One of the 4-H groups had a bunny and small animal agility course set up! Check this out - I think Grimmy needs one!

While they didn't have the fun slides and climb on toys they had last year, they had a way cool "farming" area set up with hands on activities. This was a HUGE hit in my home. The kiddo got to ride on these adorable little tractor for "races", as well as rope a fake steer. There even was a booth for showing kids how to pick up animal poop! LOL

There was a very fun petting zoo with lots of farm animals - and my daughter's now favorite kangaroos. They even had some 3 day old piggies! (I sent DH in with her and I should have handed him the camera to get some good shots of the piggies, sorry!)

Lots of booths were there with some really fun pet related merchandise to purchase. We loaded up on some cookies (of course!) and a few new toys.

And there even was a fun show with animals doing tricks and causing general mayhem. ;) lol Check out the adorable burro:

And the mini goats! *swoon* Mamma wants the goats.

What a well-planned and organized event! There sure were a lot of things to do and see there. Sounds like you all had a good time.

I don't like those pony rides where they just go in circles. Seems sort of mean, doesn't it?
