I'm familiar with the other pillow style pets - even Petco sells them for dogs! - but I was amazed at the size difference when the box arrived. Unlike those other ones, Cuddle Covers are full size pillows and can actually fit any standard size pillow. (You don't have to buy the one Cuddle Covers makes - just use any pillow you have lying around if you wish) Because these critters are removable, you can actually clean them in the washing machine, which helps if your kiddo has been sick, or you have allergy and asthma problems in your home. You can even through the covers in the dryer!
To use, simply unzip the cover and stuff with a fluffed pillow. Rezip. That's it - super easy! The material used on the critter is an ultra-soft polyester with a similar texture to velvet - it feels like your average stuffed animal. It's soft for kids to sleep on and snuggle with. Thanks to that one Dora video, my daughter has been on a unicorn kick, so we couldn't have received a better Cuddle Covers friend to review - she loves it! We use ours on the floor or couch when watching TV, and she sits on it while playing. (This is why I am so thankful they are washable!) I haven't tossed ours into the dryer as I would rather line dry it.
