Review: Duraflame Campfire Roasting Logs

I love going camping, and all of the fun it brings. It used to be a little bit easier - when it was just me, I could carry everything I needed on my back. Then as my family expanded, we got a bigger tent... and then a second bigger tent that now has room for the three of us and two dogs. That was just the beginning. Suddenly, I needed a lot more equipment to make tent camping enjoyable! It almost feels like I'm packing everything but the kitchen sink when we go camping now!

If you're planning to go camping this year, be sure to check out all of your equipment before you head out. Sometimes a hole can appear during storage in your tents or sleeping bags. We always pop our tent up in the yard before we leave on our trips to make sure that all of the pieces are there, and there's no problems with it. Don't forget to wash those sleeping bags if they haven't been used in awhile! And finally, before you leave, be sure to phone ahead or checkout the campgrounds website to see if you are able to have a campfire, as there might be a burn ban in effect in the area, especially in the middle of summer. If there is one, you'll need to plan accordingly for meals. If there isn't one in effect, the next question you'll need to ask is if you can bring wood in, or pick up dead branches off the ground to start your fire. Many campgrounds don't allow you to bring your own wood into the area, due to bugs that could hitch a ride. If this is the case, you may need to purchase your wood at the campground, and it's often first come, first served - they could be out by the time you get there!

If you don't camp, fear not - you can still use these in backyard firepits, and even indoors - especially if you have a craving for 'Smores, but don't want to head outdoors! They are super easy to light thanks to the wrappers, and you don't need any tinder - just light, and let them go for awhile until they are hot! Not only will I be taking along these new Duraflame Campfire Roasting Logs when we go camping, but I'll keep a bundle on hand in case of power outage to use in our fireplace in case we need to cook something over it. I love knowing that these logs are lab tested and won't harm the food we'll be warming up!
