Review: Plus Size Lingerie Boutique

I love wearing pretty things. I've always been one to splurge on my lingerie - OK, maybe not so much since I became a mom, but I still like to open my underwear drawer and see a fun collection of different styles and colors to wear.

I was able to choose something for review, so I headed over to the costume section and I picked out the Full Length Hooded Cape Adult Costume:

My package arrived promptly! This cape is made by Rubies, a well known entry level name in the costume world. This crushed lightweight velvety cape was floor length on my 5'4" frame wearing 2" heeled boots. (Without boots, it drug the ground a little, so if you're shorter, you my want to hem it so you don't trip!) The sparkly spider web trim design is an awesome purple glitter. (Beware that it sheds, so store the cape in a dry clean style plastic cover if you don't want glitter on other clothing!) This is not a heavy weight cape to wear outside every day, but rather a fun cape for a few parties or to wear in the bedroom. If you live in a warmer climate, then maybe you could wear it daily, although I am sure it will start to show some wear after awhile.

The cape is one size fits all, which I'll admit I was surprised was on a plus sized site. In my honest opinion, it's just right for my size 12/14 body. I'd peg it at perfectly fitting a size 18/20 at the most. While if you wear a larger size, you could still wear it since technically it only closes at the neck with a tie, the cape coverage wouldn't be quite so full. If you are wanting to show off your costume, or don't mind it not covering your body completely like the photo above, then this will not bother you at all though!

The Full Length Hooded Cape Adult Costume retails for $33.99 on the Plus Size Lingerie Boutique website, and I'd say it's an appropriate and average price for what it is. I love it!
