Review: Welch's Fruit Snacks
It can get difficult packing kid friendly snacks to take along on summer outings. With the warmer weather, some healthier options such as yogurt might be out if refrigeration isn't easily available, and that can leave not-so healthy options like cookies and chips.
Welch’s Fruit Snacks are made with real fruit, and are fat free. They are also gluten free, making it a good choice for those with gluten sensitivities. Each serving contains 100% of the recommended daily value of Vitamin C and 25% of Vitamins A and E, while staying at about the 80 calorie per serving mark. Welch’s Fruit Snacks are available in ten different varieties including Tangy Fruits, White Grape Raspberry, Strawberry, Island Fruits, Concord Grape, Mixed Fruit, White Grape Peach, Fruit Punch, Mixed Fruit, Reduced Sugar Mixed Fruit, and Berries 'N Cherries. Some flavors are available in only a 2.25 ounce multi-serving packet, while others are available in 0.8 ounce pouches that come in 8 count boxes.
Welch’s Fruit Snacks sent us on over an assortment of their snacks to try out. As a Mom, I loved that they are shelf stable snacks that I can pull out to take along on just about every outing, and that they have 100% of the vitamin C, while being preservative free. We loved the taste - the kiddo loved the Strawberry ones the most, while I enjoyed the Island Fruits, and DH the Mixed Fruit.
There are a couple of downfalls though - all flavors contained corn syrup, something I'd rather not see in our food. They also contain artificial coloring like Red 40 and Blue 1, so be aware of this if you are trying to avoid this in your child's diet.
You can find Welch’s Fruit Snacks at your favorite local grocery store, or big box stores like Walmart, Target, and Costco.
I received samples of the product mentioned above in order to try them out and share my thoughts on them. All opinions are my own.
