Review: Shielo Smoothing Complexion Face Scrub

I was looking in the mirror the other day at my facial skin, and realized I could really use a scrub on my face. Even before my surgery though, most exfoliants I tried would cause my skin to turn red and blotchy for a few days after using it, so I had always avoiding using them.


One of my favorite companies, Shielo, has a Smoothing Complexion Face Scrub. It is a clarifying exfoliant for cellular renewal, containing allantoin + jojoba microspheres for all skin types. It lifts dead skin cells to reveal a smoother, healthier complexion - which I really needed - and smooths fine lines and wrinkles, lighten skin discolorations and stimulate cellular regeneration for radiance.

To use, simply apply to clean skin on your neck and face, gently massaging in a circular motion. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Depending on your skin type, you'll want to use this once or twice a week.

Even though I totally trust Shielo's products, I'll admit I hesitated for a split second when I first squeezed some of the product out of the handy tube onto my fingers. I got over it fairly quickly after glancing in the mirror at my skin again. ;) It has these little exfoliating beads to scrub off that layer of dead skin. It has a pleasant scent, and it's super easy to apply. I felt no burning sensations while I rubbed it onto my skin - hurray! When I was done, I just hopped into the shower to rinse it off. It came off easily, and when I was all dried off, my facial skin was a little bit red - but it always is, thanks to our water, so I can't say whether the Face Scrub contributed to that or not. (It didn't look any different) Fast forward a few hours, and I could see a difference in my facial skin after just one use - it cleared off the layer of dead flaky skin I was noticing, especially around my lower jawline. I think after a couple of weeks of working this into my skin regime that my skin will finally look a bit healthier! (Trust me, it was really beginning to bother me. Regular facial wash just wasn't cutting it)
