The fabulous folks over at TNT offered to send me on over a couple of screeners for the new show, so I could check them out. Since we don't have cable over here in the boondocks, I was jumping for joy! I was totally geeked out when it arrived and the box played the Dallas theme song, too. ;)
Both the pilot episode, Changing of the Guard and the second episode Hedging Your Bets have already aired this past week, but come Wednesday, you can catch the third episode The Price You Pay. If you haven't viewed the first two episodes, I don't want to give too much away so you can catch up, but you'll see some familiar faces as the "old guard" have returned with JR and Bobby. Bobby's soon Christopher has come home to be married, while JR's son John Ross (Jr, of course) has found liquid gold - oil - on southfork Ranch. This sets up the battle, as Bobby wants to honor his mother's wishes and keep Southfork green. It just so happens that Christopher is in the business of trying to find more environmentally friendly energy - methane - and is trying to get funding. Bobby wants to sell the ranch where it can't ever be drilled, and the very nasty battle begins. Here's a trailer:
If you love prime time soap operas, you're going to love watching Dallas. I think you can get into this show not having watched the original series, but if you can catch up, perhaps you'd want to. DH kind of rolled his eyes throughout the first episode - he made a couple of comments about crazy people and their love of money, lol - but by the middle of the second episode, he was just as hooked as me! (Methinks the flashing around of the Cowboys field and other places back home kind of sealed the deal.)
If you missed the first episode, and you want to get caught up right now, never fear - TNT has the show available on the website so you can hurry up and view it online! You can even download the Dallas theme song - you know you want to. ;) Catch the next episode Wednesday at 9/8C.
I received promotional screeners so I could view the show and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own. #spon: I'm required to disclose a relationship with Dallas. This could include Dallas providing me with content, product, access or other forms of payment.

I received promotional screeners as well and was definitely hooked after watching the first two episodes. I only vaguely remember the original show. The new Dallas is full of twists and turns. Can't wait to see the rest of the season!
