Review: Cold-EEZE

Even though we tend to get a lot of vitamin D in the summer months, thanks to air conditioning and traveling, folks tend to be prone to catching a cold. Don't let those mean ol' rotten germs spoil your summer fun! Pack Cold-EEZE! (I will be! Momma can't afford to be sick!)

Cold-EEZE is the leading over-the-counter (OTC) homeopathic cold remedy that is clinically proven to shorten the duration of the common cold by nearly half - meaning you might not lose your entire vacation. It's Pharmacist recommended, and does not cause drowsiness or affect blood pressure Cold-EEZE contains zinc gluconate, an active ingredient that shortens the cold instead of simply treating symptoms. Zinc has been shown to be beneficial in reducing that cold if you take it within 24 hours, so don't delay starting to use Cold-EEZE if you think you feel the sniffles coming on.

Cold-EEZE is available in both an oral spray and lozenges. The lozenges come in a wide variety of flavors, including cherry, honey leon, strawberries & cream, tropical orange, lemon lime, sugar free wild cherry, sugar free pomegranate, and sugar free chocolate mint. Children ages 12 and up, as well as adults, can use Cold-EEZE every 2 to 4 hours as needed - simple dissolve, not chew, a lozenge in your mouth. However, don't use it on an empty stomach, as you could get minor stomach upset if you do. Cold-EEZE is gluten free, so this product is safe if you suffer from celiac sensitivities. It also contains no artificial colors or preservatives.

I was sent on over a box of the Cold-EEZE Sugar Free Cherry lozenges. None of us have had sniffles to try it out with, but I'm ready to battle them if they appear. I did pop one just to try out the cherry flavor, and it was pleasant. I'll be packing this along on our trip to the ocean later this month! (Take that, evil germs!) The great part about Cold-EEZE is that there is no expiration date on it! If you store it properly in a cool, dry place, you can have this ready to go at the first sign of symptoms without worrying that you're wasting your money if you don't use it. By the way, Cold-EEZE is made here in the USA!

You can find Cold-EEZE at big box stores and drug stores like Wal-Mart, Rite Aid, CVS, etc, with a suggested retail price of $6.99 for an 18 count box of lozenges. You can also purchase them online via sites like drugstore.com and Amazon.com.

Edit 9/2: Well, that didn't take long for cold season to strike our house this year! DH brought home some nasty germs, and thankfully I stilll had the rest of this package of Cold-EEZE to help me out before it was too late. I still have some sniffles - I am nowhere as bad as my DH ended up - but I am pretty sure I would have been a lot worse with my weakened immune system.

I received samples of this product in order to share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own. Speak with your doctor or nurse before using this product if you have any concerns or questions.
