Review & Giveaway: Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers

Taking care of your teeth is one of the most important things we can do - after all, you only get one set of adult teeth! :) So why is it we hate doing things such as flossing? Besides the fact that not flossing doesn't exactly make your teeth look great, it can help gum disease appear. I don't mind flossing, but the one thing I hate about it is the waste - the plastic containers, the thread that goes in the trash.

Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers from The Natural Dentist are pliable, wooden cleaning tools with a patented triangular shape designed to fit between teeth and gently stimulate gums to fight gingivitis. Yes, you read right - wooden!, just like the old days, making these little sticks much more eco-friendly. The biodegradable wood comes from managed sustainable forests, and the Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers have the American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance!

Each matchbook sized package of Stim-U-Dent has 25-40 little picks, so it's easy to carry around in your pocket or purse for on the go. Available in Original size, or Thin, they are made to absorb moisture and become flexible so they won't harm your teeth.

I was sent a package of the Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers in Thin to try out. The thin variety are 38% thinner than the original, so if you have tight spaces between your teeth, this is the one you want to try too. To use, you just moisten it thoroughly in your mouth (ahem, suck on it a few seconds), then insert the pointed end between your teeth with the flat side next to your teeth. Slide in and out, being careful not to force it in too hard. It sounds harder to use than it really is - trust me. In less than 30 seconds, you can "floss" your teeth just about anywhere! They have a pleasant light mint flavor to them - nothing overwhelming. They are also gluten free, and all of The Natural Dentist's products are plant based and not tested on animals.

For those interested in emergency preparedness, these Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers from The Natural Dentist are a great addition to your stash. No running water is needed, and because these are biodegradable, you can just toss them into the compost pile or even use them as kindling in your fireplace. You don't have to worry about disposing of plastic if there is no trash pickup. (The packaging is just simple cardboard, so it can be recycled or tossed in the fire if necessary) They also don't take up very much room in emergency bug out bags, however, be sure to store them inside a waterproof container if possible!

You can purchase Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers from The Natural Dentist at big box stores and pharmacies like Walmart, CVS, etc with a suggested retail price of $3.29 for a package that container four packages of 25-40 sticks each.

Win it! Want to win a package of Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers from The Natural Dentist to try them out for yourself? To enter, just 'fess up if you've flossed your teeth in the last 24 hours or not. Easy peasy!

I'm not going to lie, I didn't floss today. I ran out of dental floss two days and forgot to get a new one.
