Do you find yourself aimlessly doodling on any scrap of paper you find? While I don't scribble as much as I used to - gone are the school days of scribbling I heart RD ;) - if I'm stuck on the phone, I have to have a piece of paper to scribble on. And often if we've gone out to eat, and the restaurant has crayons and paper for the kiddo to play with, I'm doodling and coloring right alongside her. ;) The Scribble Diary was started seven years ago as part of the Scribble Diary website (thescribbleproject.blogspot.com) to capture the works of some of the author's favorite illustrators.
Using an assortment of shapes and objects, combined with writing and creative prompts, The Scribble Diary encourages one to break open the dam of creativity and get those thoughts and feelings onto paper. Whatever you want to draw, write, or color, just grab a colored pencil or pen and let it rip! The fun of this book is it doesn't matter how old you are - if you are a teen, or in your 80's - you can use it to be more creative. There's no need to fill out the book in order, just open a page and doodle away!
The only thing I wish is that the book had been binded with a spiral ring, to make it easier to scribble in. (Darn!) Other than that, I love it!
The Scribble Diary: My Brain Right Now by Lisa Currie is a paperback crafts/hobbies book published by Perigee. It is 192 pages long. The suggested cover price is $14.00, but Amazon has it available for $11.08 as of this posting.
I received a copy of this book in order to read it - well in this case, doodle in it - and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own, and not that of the author(s) or publisher.
