Book Review: Songs Of My Life ...Slightly Out Of Tune By Susan Dintino

I recently received a copy of the new book Songs Of My Life ...Slightly Out Of Tune by Susan Dintino to review.

Geared towards women (and men, too) over the age of 40 who are dealing with every day challenges of life - like paying for braces, aging, marriage, etc, Songs Of My Life shares stories from the author such as her fear of going to the dentist, alongside gentle advice and revelations she has had. Written in a very friendly manner, you almost feel like you are having a conversation about your "out of tune life" over a cup of coffee in your own kitchen. With a touch of giggles, of course, as she also discovers the first time she learned about "landscaping" (Ahem. lol) among other things.

The part that probably resonated with me the most was where the author - who has been married for over 40 years - discussed some of the issues she had with her husband in the beginning of her marriage (he was always late - gee, what a coincidence? lol) and how she had to learn that screaming gets you nowhere. It's a Mexican thing in my case. lol ;) I try to keep it to a minimum, but sometimes I just cannot stand it anymore, and out comes the mujer loca (crazy woman). The author points out that rather than complain (or in this case, scream lol), just do something about it. If your husband is always late, leave without him. (Course, not driving in my case nips that idea in the bud)

Don't pick up this book thinking you'll have a million and one revelations, but if you're like me, you'll walk away with a few good messages we all could learn from. (Think positive!) It's a very short read, and it's easy to just read a chapter or two at a time.

Songs Of My Life ...Slightly Out Of Tune by Susan Dintino is a paperback mind/body/spirit book published by Hay House Insights. It is 136 pages long. The suggested cover price is $13.95, but Amazon has it available for $10.21 as of this posting. It is also available as an e-book for the Kindle and other e-readers.

I received a copy of this book in order to read it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own, and not that of the author(s) or the publisher.
