To use, you simply apply it like you would any other shampoo - wet your hair, then massage into your scalp, working through to the ends. Take a few extra moments if you have them to keep massaging it in before rinsing, so the shampoo can do it's magic.
The shampoo bottle has an easy to use pop top, and it smells very pleasant upon applying it. I really liked the scent - it wasn't overwhelming, and it didn't smell fake like some shampoos do. I chose to skip a follow up conditioner when I was using the Shielo Volumizing Shampoo, just to make sure nothing was interfering with the volumizing part. Now, normally when I would do this, my hair would be a tangled mess, but it really wasn't bad at all! For me, any improvement in the volume department is great, because my hair has really thinned out over the years with all of the chemicals and insane styling I've done to it over the years. I didn't end up with poofy Alex The Lion (a la Madagascar LOL) hair, of course, but I didn't have flat hair, and my very fine hair seemed to have some pizazz after a week's worth of use! For my hair, I'd give it an "A" - but I know each of ladies are stuck on a rather annoying journey to find the right shampoo for our unique hair, and your experience with the product may vary from mine.
The only negative thought I had with this shampoo is that it does contain Propylene Glycol, an ingredient I am trying to avoid in the products we use in our home. I know it's really hard to avoid it in shampoos though. Other than that, I do love Shielo's products, because they are cruelty free and not tested on animals. It is also sustainable, as the company tries to ensure that at least 65% of the molecular weight of their products come from natural sources, and the bottle is also recyclable. Their products are also made here in the USA!
An 8 ounce bottle of Shielo VOLUME Volumizing Shampoo retails for $28.49, and you can purchase it online via their website, where they currently have free shipping on all orders over $75.
I received the product shown above in order to try it out and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own, and your results with the product may vary from mine depending on your hair type and even your water system. (Crazy, isn't it?)
