DVD Review: Iron Man Armored Adventures: Season 2, Volume 2

My family and I recently received a copy of the new animated DVD Iron Man Armored Adventures: Season 2, Volume 2 to review.

Iron Man Armored Adventures follows Marvel character Tony Stark as a teenager, when he was an inventor and of course, heir to the Stark fortune. He once lived a life of luxury, but when a tragic plane accidents takes away his father, he decided to honor his memory by using his invincible suit or armor to protect and defends others. His friends Rhodey and Pepper Potts help, too. In this DVD, you'll see season two continue on while Tony fights to prevent the stolen Iron Man technology from being used for evil by Doctor Doom, Iron Monger, and Titanium Man. Iron Man will also meet Hawkeye and Black Widow as their characters are introduced in "The Hawk and the Spider" episode - will they become friends or foes?

Volume two contains six episodes from season two: "Titanium vs. Iron", "Might of Doom", "The Hawk and the Spider", "Enter: Iron Monger", "Fugitive of S.H.I.E.L.D.", and "All the Best People Are Mad".

There is a special feature included on this DVD - an original artwork gallery featuring Titanium Man and Doctor Doom. Not a ton, but it's better than nothing. (And more than most cartoon DVD's seem to have as of late)

If your kids love the Iron Man movies and The Avengers, and they haven't seen this show yet, they will probably love it! It's fun to see the Tony Stark character as a young 'un, and kids can identify with the younger version a little more. Keep in mind that season two is still airing, and we'll probably see more DVD's released over the next few months.

Iron Man: Armored Adventures Season 2 Volume 2 will be available on DVD this coming Tuesday, September 25th, 2012. Not rated, it's geared towards boys 5-11, with some cartoon violence. Widescreen format, the total running time is 139 minutes long. The suggested retail price is $14.93, and Amazon has it available on pre-order for just $9.99 as of this posting. (Netflix users: you can get caught up on the first season of the series via Instant Streaming)

I received a copy of this DVD in order to view it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own.
